Unique Visitor vs. Returning Visitor

The first day a visitor visits your web page, s/he is considered a new (unique) visitor. If a visitor comes back another day, s/he will be counted as a return visitor. Again, both a new and return visitor can visit your website several times in one day and will only be counted as one single visitor.
