Spiders
Spiders, also known as crawlers, are programs that automatically visit web pages and follow the links. Search Engines use them to find web pages. We do not track spiders. Spiders and bots are not and cannot be tracked via our software (or by any other hosted statistics software package). In order for WebSTAT to track a visitor to your web site, the visitor's computer must "execute" our code tags, which is written in JavaScript. Spiders merely download the HTML and JavaScript code, but do not execute any of the JavaScript. In other words, a visitor must actually view your web site with a (graphical) web browser in order for WebSTAT to track them.

We realize that having this information is very useful, so we are doing research on how to best implement this feature. However, as of right now, we do not have a time frame as to when it will be available.
