Do you identify 100% of return visitors?
Return visitors refer to the number of visitors who have visited your page on a previous day since the day you started tracking with WebSTAT. This gives you a good idea of how many of visitors are returning, but cannot be and is not intended to be a representation of 100% of your return visitors. There are several reasons why someone who has been to your site would not be counted as a return visitor:

1) They might have visited before you started using WebSTAT. If you are a new with WebSTAT, it is suggested that you wait at least three weeks before getting a reliable count of return visitors.

2) They might have used a different computer or browser. We track browsers, not individual people. If someone visits your site, and then later returns to your website on a different computer or browser, we will not be able to identify them as a return visitor.

3) They might have disabled or cleared their cookies. We use cookies to track return visitors. If they don't accept cookies or clear their cookies out, they will not be tracked as a return visitor.

4) They might be returning from a visit earlier that day. Visitors are only counted once per day. If their first visit was earlier that day, they will still be a new visitor when they return. If the earlier visit was a return visit, they will only be counted as a return visitor once.

You will always have a large number of new visitors. If you are a web site of a reasonable size, you are probably on google and you will have people visit your site who are just surfing the internet and are not likely to return.
