Track by URL
The URL is your website’s address. This includes your domain and your page name, such as http://www.mydomain.com/mypage.html. By default, all accounts are set up to track by URL. You do not have to do anything to track by this option. When you track by URL, we automatically strip the query string, the part after the “?”. There is no way around this. If you depend on the query string, it is suggested that you track by some other method. When you track be URL, you can configure the report to show the full URL, the URL stripped of http://www and the URL stripped of all tracked domains.

If you are currently tracking by page title you can follow these steps to switch back to tracking by URL.

  1. Log in
  2. Go to the Tracking Options menu
  3. Scroll down to where it says “Use HTML Titles for Page Naming”
  4. Click “No”
  5. Make sure to click “Update Changes>>” at the bottom
